"Anyone who's sold herself for somebody else once isn't going to do it again."
A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen
A frequently-tested drama by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, A Doll's House (1879) is still acclaimed for its boldness and Nora's audacity in leaving the house in the midst of winter.
Nora is dauntless. As a woman living under Victorian patriarchal values, my professor Jeremy Trembling once noted, her only fate in leaving the doll's house would be either frozen to death or had no choice but turned into a prostitute.
I believe, though, Nora would welcome either since there's no way she would stay with a broken heart.
