IBDP English A Language & Literature SL - Level 7

I chose Ms. Jamie because I initially struggled with English in the beginning and received a 5 for my first oral and Paper 1 assessment. I found the gap between IB and IGCSE English to be particularly significant, as I wasn't used to the high standard of analytical writing required for top marks. During my first session with her, Ms. Jamie provided a lot of fruitful comments and tips on how to improve, which allowed me to get a 7 for my next oral assessment.

Ms. Jamie helped me the most in solidifying my exam skills as well as my knowledge of literary techniques required to score a 7. Initially I felt quite unconfident in IB English as I didn't have much prior exposure and experience in analyzing a wide variety of both literary and non-literary texts, however Ms. Jamie's engaging teaching style and abundant resources greatly enhanced my learning experience and interest in the subject. Through consistent past paper practise combined with her constructive feedback, I was able to develop my skills and confidence over the 2 years, so I'm truly grateful to Ms. Jamie for helping me get to my final result.
