"Stronger than lover's love is lover's hate. Incurable, in each, the wounds they make."Medea by Euripides

An uncommon feminist tragedy written by Euripides in 431 BC, the play charts Medea's revenge against her unfaithful and opportunistic husband, Jason, by murdering their own two sons. She also killed her love rival, the rich Princess of Corinth.
For female audience like me, I definitely experienced catharsis as I witnessed Medea's love rival getting killed -- particularly out of Glauce vanity in putting on pretty clothes. A sorceress of divine decent, who has helped her husband escaped difficult situations with her magic powers time and time again, we audience do understand why she does what she does. Euripides paints the deep love and hate a woman experiences blatantly and bloodily.
