Some IBDP English A: Language & Literature students might know Criterion B is about analyzing "techniques" and their effects on the authors' intended audiences, but do you know exactly how to score full marks in this marking criterion?

Criterion B is called "Analysis and Evaluation", so to secure 5/5 in Paper 1 and Paper 2, candidates MUST evaluate the effectiveness of authors' employment of certain formal and stylistic features. For instance, has the author committed any logical fallacy? Is the layout and organization of the text legible? Is the author's values ethical or discriminatory? Making perceptive insights into these areas can boost Criterion B marks.
