In Cambridge's IGCSE English as First Language Paper 1, candidates are required to write a summary on a given text. To ensure attaining an A*, students should get at least 13 marks out of 15.
One of the keys to success in this task is to summarize the necessary 10 to 12 main points only, without including explanations and examples.
Students need to bear in mind: CIE's marking focus of summary is assessing how well candidates present the text's main points in a coherent and grammatical manner. No extra detail is needed.
