國内及台灣的傳媒，常說International Baccalaureate國際文憑預科課程(簡稱IBDP)是全球所有課程體系裏最難、但含金量最高的課程，那它的難度在哪裏？優勢又在哪裏？今次我以任教IBDP課程10年的經驗，從考官角度分析不同原因。

前兩天早上在咖啡室吃早餐的時候，不期然聽到身後有一對夫婦在談論送女兒入讀國際學校的事。我輕輕看了一眼那位女孩子，看上去才是幼稚園生的模樣，令我想起我的女兒，我向她報以一個微笑。聼到家長們在苦惱應該報讀那所國際學校，而令我會心微笑的是，媽媽向爸爸說，讀IB （International Baccalaureate，國際文憑課程的簡稱），英文科不考grammar又不做閲讀理解，完全不知道是讀甚麽的。很好的問題。

今天想與大家分享 我的學生Angie 的這一份範文，是一篇詩的分析。 她做得好的地方，就是跟隨並運用了我教授的結構， 當中有一個很清晰的 Topic sentence亦都有一個 Concludin g segment，而很多時同學們是不會理會這些，因為普遍國際學校的學生，書寫作答方面是比較混亂和隨機，但當學生去考公開試時，其實是需要非常清晰、特定的一個規格與及一個框架，所以每一個段落， 如何書寫第一段、第二段、第三段等，其實都需要有脈絡的。 而以上這些，其實學校老師是沒有教導的， 除以上的規格、框架外，我亦會教授如何書寫當中的每一句，還會有範文可以讓同學清晰學習。

在香港，如果一位DSE學生想考進所謂的「神科」(香港大學或中文大學的醫科和法律科)，沒有頂級成績幾乎是不可能的。所以有些家長認為，轉讀國際學校、報考英制的GCE A-Level或在全球159個國家流行的International Baccalaureate國際文憑預科課程(簡稱IBDP)，子女考進「神科」會容易一點、機會大一點。
